Thursday 29th November Today I have been busy writing my report which is on polar bears. I have researched everything from what they eat to what they look like. My categories or sub-headings are What do polar bears eat?, What do polar bears look like?, How do they communicate? and Cubs. I think that my report will turn out great because I have gotten lots of informative information that will tell more about polar bears. I picked polar bears because there were heaps of books on them and I wanted to learn more about them.
Tuesday 13th November Today Madison and I planned our Special project plan together. First we wrote down our question. Our question was can we make ten or more pom-poms and 10 or more string things in the time we have to make our special project? I think that we will accomplish it.
Tuesday 30th October
Today I had one hour full of character study. I was doing the activities on the sheet of paper that we were given. This is activity that i did: 7. Draw a picture of your characters best friend(s) and describe them fully. I had fun trying to draw my friends's characters. Madison's monster was called Wobbles and Georgie's one was called Roso it means red in a different language. The name of my character was Aka and it also means red in another language.
Thursday 25th October
Today I have millionaire challenge 3 TIMES today! The reason why I have so many of them is because tomorrow will be the last day to finish our millionaire challenge but we have no space to put any activities for Friday so basically we have no time tomorrow so today is the last day.
Wednesday 24th October
Today Miss McCauley continued on her gloss testing (math testing), the thing I liked about the gloss testing this year is the fact that she doesn't test people one at a time she does it in groups not individually. You can get called up quite a couple of times though. The gloss testing goes like this: Miss McCauley writes a math statergie on the board and then we had to answer an equation using only that stratergie if you couldn't do it you were allowed to leave.
Tuesday 23rd October
Since yesterday was labour day we didn't have school so that meant there was no blog. Anyway today we had a firewise session with Miss McCauley and we talked about what to do and don't do around fire. Miss McCauley turned the beeping noise on the smoke alarm so that we could hear what the beep would sound like if there was a fire. We also watched a DVD and it was on how long it takes for a fire to take over. (3 minutes)
Wednesday 12th September
This morning we learned that we had to drop cover hold if there is ever an earthquake at home or at school. My friend Madison and I were squashed underneath a really really tiny table not to mention it being so low. Then after morning tea Miss McCauley blew her white whistle telling us that it was an 'earthquake' and we had to stop whatever we were doing then drop, cover, hold.
Monday 10th September
Today for music we had Mrs Prasad for our teacher instead of Mrs Hohia. The reason why Mrs Hohia wasn't there was because she had a headache. The sad thing was that Mrs Prasad was called to fill in at the last minute in the day she was supposed to take her mom to the hospital. The good thing was that Mrs Prasad didn't bother doing any of the things we were supposed to do instead we did a worksheet that she just found on a keyboard.
Thursday 6th September
Today Madison, Anita, Fiona and I did our maths follow-up. In our workshop we learned about number lines and how to use them to solve our equations that look like this: 24 + ? = 82. Miss McCauley said that for our follow-up we had to create a lesson on what we learned in our workshop. So Madison, Anita, Fiona and I chose to do edu-creations to show-case our lesson. We also decided to record after writing the instructions. Sadly, we didn't get to finish our lesson because I was the only one that had to do something really important. That important thing was Wiki-blog and reflective journal.
Thursday 30th August
Today we sent a get well video to our classmate Georgie. The reason why we did that was because Georgie went to the hospital to get an operation on her eye. Her eye was swollen and it was all pink and puffy. We also could write a letter to her and then Miss McCauley will text it to Georgie's mum. This is what my letter said to Georgie: Dear Georgie, I hope you get better soon, you and your eye. P.S we really miss you From: Marianne Everyone could do that if they wanted to. The idea of doing that came from Madison.
Wednesday 22nd August
Today for finishing I knew exactly what to do, I continued on my story 'The Mystery of the Haunted Mansion' Now my story is 35 PAGES LONG!!!! I am completely proud of myself, this time I wrote nice and neatly, Ronnie my main character was unconscious and she dreamed a strange dream about her mums really close friend telling her to help this girl called Alex. Today I also read Deanna's story the title of her story is 'My Friend The Super hero' it was an awesome story!!! If you want to read my story click**here**. Monday 20th August
Today I had finishing for basically the whole day, like in the morning I had finishing then after morning tea I had finishing, then after THAT I had finishing and basically the only time I didn't have that was when it was 12:00 to 12:30 there I had Spelling. In the end I absolutely regretted doing that but I had to do it anyway. So the first thing I thought that could do was do my creative writing but I got bored of it for a while then I did some maths independent, but once again I got bored of it. Then after that I thought it would be good if I did some reading.... then it was morning tea the rest of the day went a lot like that.
Friday 17th August
Today just before Lunch Miss McCauley put a video up for us to watch, it was a yoga video! Miss McCauley made us do yoga to relax ourselves since we had cross country yesterday. We had to do lots of strange things in strange positions. It was so fun to balance on your hands!!
Thursday 16th August
Today we had the earth-shattering school cross country. I was wearing my red jump jam t-shirt and some brown shorts. When we were ready to take our position on running Mr. Van Beusekon said "ON YOUR MARKS.... GET SET... GO!!" Then he let a buzzer go off. We were gone like the wind, I could feel the soft mud on my shivering legs so much!! As I reached the top of our hill I heard children saying "GO MARIANNE! GO MARIANNE!" It was room 11. In the end my mum said I came 16th it wasn't the best thing to get but it was better than 20th.
Wednesday 15th August
Today Room 14 went to our second to last swimming lesson in Millennium. My teacher was a girl called Cindy, she is so nice!! She was so nice that when I wasn't that confident on doing the breaststroke kick she let me do freestyle kicks instead. Then she taught us how to do the breaststroke arms. I was scared because If I was hopeless at the kicking I won't be good at the arms. But luckily Cindy told me a random story to help me with my breaststroke. After I got the hang of it I had to add my legs, I was petrified!! But Cindy taught me a technique to use to make breaststroke WAAY easier.
Tuesday 14th August
Today we just watched the years one to two do their cross country. We also got to bring our class ipads and get some footage, make an imovie or a trailer, or tweet and take a photo. I buddied up with Georgie and Bridget and together we made an imovie trailer. We got footage of the boys doing cross country and we got footage of the girls doing it too. Right now we just got back and we are getting started on our first activity. My first activity is wiki blog and reflective journal. The reflection journal is a book where we just reflect on our learning through-out the week.
Monday 13th August
Today at ICT we had to clean our wikis up, we had to do that because Wikispaces was gonna feature all our Wiki's. The things we had to do were 1.make an Archive page and put in all the pages we normally don't use. 2. Put pages on pages (e.g when you click on my Literacy page you will find a link on it taking you to different pages that don't need to be included in the navigation bar or the Archive page. 3. This step was optional, we could make an about me page. That was what we had to do. I finished them all and now I am on my wiki blog.
So you know how we had to write our story board yesterday? Well, this morning we had to swap all of our story boards and we had to make the movie with only the help of their story boards. We ended up getting Hunter's one and our one ended up with Sarina's group.
Tuesday 7th August
Today at 11:00 I had a Literacy follow up, for our follow up we had to finish writing this new storyboard on the new topic. The new topic was: What's lurking in my..... Then we had to fill in the dots, Miss McCauley gave our groups (Me, Kalib, Georgie, Paula, Madison and Bridget) the choice to either do it together, or do it on or own then decide which one to do. We chose to do it on our own. For my topic I did: What's lurking in my.... cupboard. For my characters there were: Madison- Crazy Indian or the monster, 4 kids - Me, Georgie, Bridget and Kalib and the camera person was Paula. In the end we had a vote, each of us were tied at the votes but in the end we got to use my story-board!
Thursday 3rd August
Today everyone in room 14 had to perform their speeches in front of the whole class. Miss McCauley said that the class will vote 50% of it then she will vote the other half. When it was my turn to face the audience I started to sweat, my palms were sweating and it was obvious that I was scared. In the end I got pretty good feedback apart from one that came from Isaac, he said that I spoke a little too fast. In the end it turned out I made it into the school finals!!!
Tuesday 31st July
Today after school I had my 3WC at 3:45 I was so nervous!! I was scared and nervous because my mum hadn't arrived yet and it was nearly my turn. But just in the nick of time my mum came I was so relieved! Miss McCauley told us to take a seat while she did something on her laptop. It was very silent and all I could hear was Miss Ms typing. After she was done typing she told me to get my keynote presentation ready. At the start of my keynote it said 3WC reflection. We had to say what our highlight was for term 2 why it was our highlight and how it had helped me as a learner. Another thing we had to do was say our next step for term 3. After I showed them my keynote They started talking about my writing, after THAT when it was nearly time to leave they started talking about my sister Janah. You would think that it took a long time but no.... it took only 3 minutes!!!
Monday 16th July
Yay back to school! Today before the bell rang Miss Rameka asked all the people who did kapa haka last year to meet at the hall. We were gonna perform in front of the school 2 Maori songs. They were called Utyna and He Hono re, In Utyna the boys got to do the haka, I had to say the Maori chief that came to bless the new building at 6:00 am was pretty impressed. Then after the two songs the Maori chief stood up and said a Maori prayer, then he translated some of it and said amen, everyone had to respond saying amen back. It was awesome because we got to miss cross country practice!
Tuesday 19th June
Today I was able to log into my writers club account and write more of my story The Mystery of the Haunted Mansion. I also got started on a new story too it is called It's Unfair. It is about this girl Roxy, she had experienced being stuck in class, having her mum pay no attention to her and having a grandma that is wanting to hug her 24/7. Right now I think I am up to chapter 5 or 6.
Monday 11th June
Today I have finally finished my sentences for spelling in time! I wondered if I could ever do it! Also today for my creative writing I have finished my 25th page in my story The Mystery Of The Haunted Mansion. I asked Madison to do the honors of writing the number 26 on the corner of my page. Madison also asked me to invent a character in the story that will be like her. I asked her what name she wanted to be and she said Alex. I tried to think about what Alex would do in the story. Then I figured it out! She should be the daughter of the villain Russell. When Ronnie (the main) tells Alex a touching story Alex promises Ronnie that she will get her out (from the cage).
Thursday 7th June
Today I had my reflective journal and wiki blog session. Here is what I wrote: This week room 14 had an art lesson, since we are going to the museum tomorrow to see the t-shirt gallery we thought that we could enter an online t-shirt competition where we can enter a photo of our t-shirt with a special story behind it. It is red and white, the reason I like it is because when I got it we came 4th and it was my first time I ever got into the nationals.
Wednesday 6th June
Today is the day that venus will cross the sun. Sadly, the weather for today was cloudy so we didn't get to see the sun. But at lunch me, Jade and Madison went to room 10 and saw someone videoing the sun and venus live in hawaii. Venus was moving so slowly that you could barely see it move. Suddenly the sun went purple I was shocked then Jade told me that it was just the camera. Also this morning we had a addition test, everyone (except Miss McCauley) started moaning and groaning. Once the test actually started it wasn't that bad and for some strange reason I found it easy and I was able to zoom through the test. Sadly when the marking came along I did not do so well, well, at least not as well as I expected. Instead of getting 25 on each column I got 24. Although it was close enough I really thought that I would get 25. Maybe next time.
Thursday 24th May
Today I went to a maths workshop with Amily, Jennifer, Their, Isaac, Sarina and David. We were learning about how to measure an area of a shape. All we had to do was times the width and the length of a shape you want to measure. But when you have a shape that is 2D you have to put a squared sign on it. Lets say the answer was 13cm you will have to add a tiny 2 at the top after the cm. So it is supposed to be 13cm2The 2 is really supposed to be at the top. Tuesday 22nd May
Today we had a session of Topic, we got to choose three devises that we could take apart. The choices were the T.V, the camera and the phone. I chose the camera because I always wondered what made the camera do what it does and what better way to find out than to open the camera and take it apart! I think the T.V people went to room 12 and the phone people went to room 10 so basically I just had to stay in our classroom and wait for everyone to get there. Once we got there Miss McCauley said that we had to get ourselves into groups of 4. I went with Madison, Aria and Tara. Sarina came in a little late so she just joined in with us. We took Madison's camera apart, inside I was surprised to see a green looking thing we calledthe peabecause it looked so much like a pea! We also had to cut some wires in fact it was so dangerous that Tara and Madison got an electric shock. Miss McCauley came around with some scissors she tried to cut a wire but a HUGE spark came out. Madison was holding it while that was happening! She was also holding a screwdriver and when the spark happened the screwdriver broke! Madison said that it was fun and that she wanted to do it again. This time we had to organize what we thought was important to making the camera work.
Monday 14th May
Today we did our E-asTTle reading test, I sometimes had to read a story to be able to answer the questions. Once we have finished we could go and update our wikis. One story that I had to read was awesome. It was about how a boy was short but a horse called Spunk made him think differently. The boy has to brothers the horses that they had was MUCH bigger than Spunk. But Spunk could heaps better... One of the boys brother's horse didn't like getting scratched and the other one kept slipping on the rocks. Spunk however was awesome, he didn't mind getting scratched and he never slipped on the rocks. The boy said "I promise that I will be just like Spunk!!"
Tuesday 8th May
Today Room 14 continued on making the script of my story Finding the Great Loch Ness Monster. My story was not supposed to be a play but with room 14s help we made it into a proper play script. The characters we had to put in was the Narrator (me), car driver (Miss McCauley), Renee (Madison), Jack (Their), Bruno (Kalib), Nature Tribe Leader (Bridget), Nature Tribe Member 1 (Isaac), Nature Tribe Member 2 (Ethan M.), Trees (Half The Class), Camp Bullies (Hunter & Jahvis), Camp Children (Other Half of the class),Mossy Mistress (Jennifer) and that is all I can remember. So after we gave the parts out we then went to one of the rooms that were near the rooms 21 and 23. In there we practiced the play without videoing. We went through once only because we had to go to fitness.
Monday 30th April
Today we had Mrs Russel for the day. We didn't know why we didn't have Miss McCauley. Anyway, today I had my independent maths work. The number I had to work on was number 13. So I scanned the piece of paper to see what worksheets I needed to do. The worksheets that I had to do was the numbers 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9. Their however had to do number 13 as well. So I let him use the number 4. Instead of doing number 4, I did the next number five. The thing that they were trying to teach was adding the different numbers but changing them to make it is easier to work out. To make explaining this easier here is an example: 45mm + 6.3cm = 10.8 cm. So you might be wondering how did you do that? Well, it is quite easy let me show you now. Lets say that you had to answer in cm you have to get the 45mm and change it into cm. Since mm is counted as a ten on every cm 40 mm is 4cm so currently we have 4.0 cm. Then instead of the 0 add in the 5 so you should have the number 4.5 cm. Now, you have to add the numbers 4.5 cm & 6.3 cm. Then there you have your answer 10.8 cm! Today was basically getting us sorted like our bins and our P.E monitors . For the bins I am doing room 14 (A.K.A our classroom) . The day I am doing for P.E is Thursday with Amily and Anita. Miss McCauley said that the busiest day was Thursday so I totally wanted to go for it. Today after morning tea we were supposed to do the bins but someone said to not do it because we were not here yesterday (ANZAC day) .

Today Room 14 did a math scavenger hunt. I worked with my friend Madison. We didn't have time to complete all the tasks we had to do. We had toestimate(to guess without knowing the answer.) some measurements then check if their right. For the field I thought that the width of the field was 65m but it was really close but I got it wrong, it was 56m. I thought that the width of the netball court was 16m and guess what? I GOT IT CORRECT!!!!!
Monday 23rd April
Yay! Back to school!! Today we had music in the morning. When we got there Mrs Hohaia said that she was expecting the year sixes not us. However we still continued on our session. This term (term 2) we are learning about DRAMA. So today Mrs Hohaia told us that after we warm up she will be reading us a story calledWeslandia.It was about a boy named Wesley and he is a nerd in the outside but really creative and adventures in the inside. After the story we had to think of another part in the book that we could strike a pose on. Then when she taps us on the shoulder with a beater we had to say a thought that the character we were acting as would me thinking. I was acting as Wesley when he was getting chased by the bullies. For my thought I said dramatically MUST KEEP RUNNING!!
Tuesday 3rd April
Today Miss McCauley told me Georgie and Serena to make the netball bags for each team. Which all together we had to make 8 netball bags. It was so hard because we had to go into a very dark and dusty room to get the things we needed like trophies. netball bibs and netball bags. It took us quite a while to get everything done because I had to keep running up and asking the teacher a lot of questions like how many bags do we REALLY need in total and do we carry all the finished bags to the class. It was basically my job to that. There was quite a big problem however, there was not enough netball bibs for every bag and not enough trophies. Then Madison came down and helped us it was a great help. We had to pump the balls just in case they were flat. Georgie and Serena had to go back to class because they were leaving tomorrow. So it was just me and Madison. In the end we managed to fill 7 bags with the things they needed. However, most of them still needed trophies. The last one didn't have the trophy and the complete set of netball bibs. We managed to get the job done but by the time we were in class it was lunch.
Monday 2nd April
Today I had an I.C.T session, we had to make sure our audio boos and reading videos. I have done all the things I needed to do. So I got to go on my trial wiki, and do the missions. The first mission was to create several pages on it by making links. The second mission was to put a little bit of content on each page. I also did those two, in quite a fast time limit if I do say so myself. I am so nervous for my Three Way Conference which by the way is tomorrow! Another thing I did with my friends today was the P.E shed. Me, Jennifer and Ethan M. was in charge of getting the P.E gear the Year fours and threes needed. It was quite a hard job but we managed to do it.
Tuesday 27th March
Today I wrote one and a half pages on my writing it was about how Ronnie went into the mansion again went through a mirror and found Rascal who asked her what she was doing here. Ronnie asked him why, he told her that the palace guards were coming to see if Rascal was still there, he also said "they would lock anyone up if they saw you with me". Today I had my reading workshop. Miss McCauley talked to us about writing about how well we thought we did when we made our audio boos. We had to write the title of the book we were doing it on. I was doing it on the book Is That A Soft Drink Bottle Your Wearing? The thing that I think that I did well was reading clearly and loudly, the thing that I think that I have to work on is getting my tongue around hard to pronounce words.
Friday 23rd March
Today I did my Reflection Journal, I wrote about my special project. When I showed it to Miss McCauley she said that she was really impressed with my reflection. I was very proud of myself. Also today we had P.E. Room 14 versed Room 10 on a game of strategy. Our time was behind by seconds. In the end however Room 10 won.
Thursday 22nd March
Today room 14 had our IKAN Maths test. I got everything in my first column correct. But after awhile it gets harder and harder. Also today we have our**Special Project**. My project is on netball, my project is so close to my best friend Amily. Her one was on tennis. We had to things for the special project step by step. The first step was deciding, on that step we had to decide or at least have an idea about what our project was on. The second step was Finding, on that step we had to find information on a computer or laptop.
Wednesday 21st March
Today we had a show go on in the school hall. It was about these janitors who received a note saying they had to run a show instead of the real actors and actresses. The show that they had to do was Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs. Although they had ti stage the show in their janitors room, which was hard because they didn't have the right things for the play. So they just improvised and used what they could see... including us. One of the made us act like a forest and say this "f-f-f-FOREST!" it was weird. Also they didn't have enough dwarfs and they got some of us to be them. It was fun.
Tuesday 20th March
Today I wrote more on my journal. I finished a page on my story, but I am not yet finished. Also today Miss McCauley talked to us about our special projects. My special project is on Netball. We had to write on our Inquiry book for the first time. We had to answer and write these questions, What is my question? My answer to that question was. Can I create a booklet on netball? The other question was, What do I already know? My answer to that question was kind of easy because I have been playing netball for about 3 years! The next question was, What do I need to find out? My answer to that question was: What all the names of the silver ferns are, Who the coach for that team is, What are the golden rules for netball and All the names of the netball teams. The last question I have not yet answered.

Today I have just finished publishing my story on a scary mansion which holds the ghost Rascal. Also today I did my beep test it was so exhausting!

Today Miss McCauley made a mistake... AGAIN! She totally forgot to add that we are gonna have a First Aid training tomorrow. It is going to take up a whole three blocks!! So we didn't have to start again like last time, but we still had to change a few things. Miss McCauley wrote some ideas on the board so that she could show us the things that we can delete from today tomorrow and Friday.

Today a new member to our class came in. His name is Jahvis. When he didn't know where to sit Hunter was like Jahvis! Jahvis! Over here!! Joshua was like that too. Miss McCauley said "So as you can see we have a crazy classroom, and I think you'll fit in just fine."
Wednesday 22nd February
I have just finished my e-asTTle test some of it was hard and some of it wasn't. After that we could play a quite game on the computer. I tried going on Sum dog but I didn't bring my paper which had my username and password. Miss Kristensen sent us back to Room 14. When we were back we did our Pro's and Con's activity on the back of our camp books. Pro's are the things we are looking forward to at camp, and Con's are the things we are not looking forward to at camp.
Friday 17th February
Today at lunch people were running around saying there is a tornado! When the bell rung Miss McCauley said that if there was a tornado we will have a place to go in. The place is in the P.E shed. Inside there is a door at the very back of the shed. We are not allowed to go in there unless there is an emergency. That calmed me down.

When I arrived at school I continued on my scary story called The Mystery of the Haunted Mansion: The Bravery. It is about a girl called Ronnie who finds a creepy looking mansion.I am doing the series with my friend Amily. Amily is doing the second book of the series it is called The Mystery of the Haunted Mansion: The Investigation. Then we will be doing the last book together.

Today Madison, Anita, Fiona and I did our maths follow-up. In our workshop we learned about number lines and how to use them to solve our equations that look like this: 24 + ? = 82. Miss McCauley said that for our follow-up we had to create a lesson on what we learned in our workshop. So Madison, Anita, Fiona and I chose to do edu-creations to show-case our lesson. We also decided to record after writing the instructions. Sadly, we didn't get to finish our lesson because I was the only one that had to do something really important. That important thing was Wiki-blog and reflective journal.Thursday 30th August
Today we sent a get well video to our classmate Georgie. The reason why we did that was because Georgie went to the hospital to get an operation on her eye. Her eye was swollen and it was all pink and puffy. We also could write a letter to her and then Miss McCauley will text it to Georgie's mum. This is what my letter said to Georgie:Dear Georgie,

Today for finishing I knew exactly what to do, I continued on my story 'The Mystery of the Haunted Mansion' Now my story is 35 PAGES LONG!!!! I am completely proud of myself, this time I wrote nice and neatly, Ronnie my main character was unconscious and she dreamed a strange dream about her mums really close friend telling her to help this girl called Alex. Today I also read Deanna's story the title of her story is 'My Friend The Super hero' it was an awesome story!!! If you want to read my story click **here**. Today I had finishing for basically the whole day, like in the morning I had finishing then after morning tea I had finishing, then after THAT I had finishing and basically the only time I didn't have that was when it was 12:00 to 12:30 there I had Spelling. In the end I absolutely regretted doing that but I had to do it anyway. So the first thing I thought that could do was do my creative writing but I got bored of it for a while then I did some maths independent, but once again I got bored of it. Then after that I thought it would be good if I did some reading.... then it was morning tea the rest of the day went a lot like that.Friday 17th August
Today just before Lunch Miss McCauley put a video up for us to watch, it was a yoga video! Miss McCauley made us do yoga to relax ourselves since we had cross country yesterday. We had to do lots of strange things in strange positions. It was so fun to balance on your hands!!Thursday 16th August
Today we had the earth-shattering school cross country. I was wearing my red jump jam t-shirt and some brown shorts. When we were ready to take our position on running Mr. Van Beusekon said "ON YOUR MARKS.... GET SET... GO!!" Then he let a buzzer go off. We were gone like the wind, I could feel the soft mud on my shivering legs so much!! As I reached the top of our hill I heard children saying "GO MARIANNE! GO MARIANNE!" It was room 11. In the end my mum said I came 16th it wasn't the best thing to get but it was better than 20th.Wednesday 15th August
Today Room 14 went to our second to last swimming lesson in Millennium. My teacher was a girl called Cindy, she is so nice!! She was so nice that when I wasn't that confident on doing the breaststroke kick she let me do freestyle kicks instead. Then she taught us how to do the breaststroke arms. I was scared because If I was hopeless at the kicking I won't be good at the arms. But luckily Cindy told me a random story to help me with my breaststroke. After I got the hang of it I had to add my legs, I was petrified!! But Cindy taught me a technique to use to make breaststroke WAAY easier.Tuesday 14th August
Today we just watched the years one to two do their cross country. We also got to bring our class ipads and get some footage, make an imovie or a trailer, or tweet and take a photo. I buddied up with Georgie and Bridget and together we made an imovie trailer. We got footage of the boys doing cross country and we got footage of the girls doing it too. Right now we just got back and we are getting started on our first activity. My first activity is wiki blog and reflective journal. The reflection journal is a book where we just reflect on our learning through-out the week.Monday 13th August
Today at ICT we had to clean our wikis up, we had to do that because Wikispaces was gonna feature all our Wiki's. The things we had to do were 1.make an Archive page and put in all the pages we normally don't use. 2. Put pages on pages (e.g when you click on my Literacy page you will find a link on it taking you to different pages that don't need to be included in the navigation bar or the Archive page. 3. This step was optional, we could make an about me page. That was what we had to do. I finished them all and now I am on my wiki blog.Wednesday 8th August

Today at 11:00 I had a Literacy follow up, for our follow up we had to finish writing this new storyboard on the new topic. The new topic was: What's lurking in my..... Then we had to fill in the dots, Miss McCauley gave our groups (Me, Kalib, Georgie, Paula, Madison and Bridget) the choice to either do it together, or do it on or own then decide which one to do. We chose to do it on our own. For my topic I did: What's lurking in my.... cupboard. For my characters there were: Madison- Crazy Indian or the monster, 4 kids - Me, Georgie, Bridget and Kalib and the camera person was Paula. In the end we had a vote, each of us were tied at the votes but in the end we got to use my story-board!Thursday 3rd August
Today everyone in room 14 had to perform their speeches in front of the whole class. Miss McCauley said that the class will vote 50% of it then she will vote the other half. When it was my turn to face the audience I started to sweat, my palms were sweating and it was obvious that I was scared. In the end I got pretty good feedback apart from one that came from Isaac, he said that I spoke a little too fast. In the end it turned out I made it into the school finals!!!Tuesday 31st July
Today after school I had my 3WC at 3:45 I was so nervous!! I was scared and nervous because my mum hadn't arrived yet and it was nearly my turn. But just in the nick of time my mum came I was so relieved! Miss McCauley told us to take a seat while she did something on her laptop. It was very silent and all I could hear was Miss Ms typing. After she was done typing she told me to get my keynote presentation ready. At the start of my keynote it said 3WC reflection. We had to say what our highlight was for term 2 why it was our highlight and how it had helped me as a learner. Another thing we had to do was say our next step for term 3. After I showed them my keynote They started talking about my writing, after THAT when it was nearly time to leave they started talking about my sister Janah. You would think that it took a long time but no.... it took only 3 minutes!!!Monday 16th July
Yay back to school! Today before the bell rang Miss Rameka asked all the people who did kapa haka last year to meet at the hall. We were gonna perform in front of the school 2 Maori songs. They were called Utyna and He Hono re, In Utyna the boys got to do the haka, I had to say the Maori chief that came to bless the new building at 6:00 am was pretty impressed. Then after the two songs the Maori chief stood up and said a Maori prayer, then he translated some of it and said amen, everyone had to respond saying amen back. It was awesome because we got to miss cross country practice!Tuesday 19th June
Today I was able to log into my writers club account and write more of my story The Mystery of the Haunted Mansion. I also got started on a new story too it is called It's Unfair. It is about this girl Roxy, she had experienced being stuck in class, having her mum pay no attention to her and having a grandma that is wanting to hug her 24/7. Today I have finally finished my sentences for spelling in time! I wondered if I could ever do it! Also today for my creative writing I have finished my 25th page in my story The Mystery Of The Haunted Mansion. I asked Madison to do the honors of writing the number 26 on the corner of my page. Madison also asked me to invent a character in the story that will be like her. I asked her what name she wanted to be and she said Alex. I tried to think about what Alex would do in the story. Then I figured it out! She should be the daughter of the villain Russell. When Ronnie (the main) tells Alex a touching story Alex promises Ronnie that she will get her out (from the cage).Thursday 7th June
Today I had my reflective journal and wiki blog session. Here is what I wrote: This week room 14 had an art lesson, since we are going to the museum tomorrow to see the t-shirt gallery we thought that we could enter an online t-shirt competition where we can enter a photo of our t-shirt with a special story behind it. Today is the day that venus will cross the sun. Sadly, the weather for today was cloudy so we didn't get to see the sun. But at lunch me, Jade and Madison went to room 10 and saw someone videoing the sun and venus live in hawaii. Venus was moving so slowly that you could barely see it move. Suddenly the sun went purple I was shocked then Jade told me that it was just the camera. Also this morning we had a addition test, everyone (except Miss McCauley) started moaning and groaning. Once the test actually started it wasn't that bad and for some strange reason I found it easy and I was able to zoom through the test. Sadly when the marking came along I did not do so well, well, at least not as well as I expected. Instead of getting 25 on each column I got 24. Although it was close enough I really thought that I would get 25. Maybe next time.Thursday 24th May
Today I went to a maths workshop with Amily, Jennifer, Their, Isaac, Sarina and David. We were learning about how to measure an area of a shape. All we had to do was times the width and the length of a shape you want to measure. But when you have a shape that is 2D you have to put a squared sign on it. Lets say the answer was 13cm you will have to add a tiny 2 at the top after the cm. So it is supposed to be 13cm2 The 2 is really supposed to be at the top. At first it was a struggle to get the hang of it but if I try concentrate I manage to get quiteTuesday 22nd May
Today we had a session of Topic, we got to choose three devises that we could take apart. The choices were the T.V, the camera and the phone. I chose the camera because I always wondered what made the camera do what it does and what better way to find out than to open the camera and take it apart! I think the T.V people went to room 12 and the phone people went to room 10 so basically I just had to stay in our classroom and wait for everyone to get there. Once we got there Miss McCauley said that we had to get ourselves into groups of 4. I went with Madison, Aria and Tara. Sarina came in a little late so she just joined in with us. We took Madison's camera apart, inside I was surprised to see a green looking thing we called the pea because it looked so much like a pea! We also had to cut some wires in fact it was so dangerous that Tara and Madison got an electric shock. Miss McCauley came around with some scissors she tried to cut a wire but a HUGE spark came out. Madison was holding it while that was happening! She was also holding a screwdriver and when the spark happened the screwdriver broke! Madison said that it was fun and that she wanted to do it again. This time we had to organize what we thought was important to making the camera work.Monday 14th May
Today we did our E-asTTle reading test, I sometimes had to read a story to be able to answer the questions. Once we have finished we could go and update our wikis. One story that I had to read was awesome. It was about how a boy was short but a horse called Spunk made him think differently. The boy has to brothers the horses that they had was MUCH bigger than Spunk. But Spunk could heaps better... One of the boys brother's horse didn't like getting scratched and the other one kept slipping on the rocks. Spunk however was awesome, he didn't mind getting scratched and he never slipped on the rocks. The boy said "I promise that I will be just like Spunk!!"Tuesday 8th May
Today Room 14 continued on making the script of my story Finding the Great Loch Ness Monster. My story was not supposed to be a play but with room 14s help we made it into a proper play script. The characters we had to put in was the Narrator (me), car driver (Miss McCauley), Renee (Madison), Jack (Their), Bruno (Kalib), Nature Tribe Leader (Bridget), Nature Tribe Member 1 (Isaac), Nature Tribe Member 2 (Ethan M.), Trees (Half The Class), Camp Bullies (Hunter & Jahvis), Camp Children (Other Half of the class),Mossy Mistress (Jennifer) and that is all I can remember. So after we gave the parts out we then went to one of the rooms that were near the rooms 21 and 23. In there we practiced the play without videoing. We went through once only because we had to go to fitness.Monday 30th April
Today we had Mrs Russel for the day. We didn't know why we didn't have Miss McCauley. Anyway, today I had my independent maths work. The number I had to work on was number 13. So I scanned the piece of paper to see what worksheets I needed to do. The worksheets that I had to do was the numbers 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9. Their however had to do number 13 as well. So I let him use the number 4. Instead of doing number 4, I did the next number five. The thing that they were trying to teach was adding the different numbers but changing them to make it is easier to work out. To make explaining this easier here is an example: 45mm + 6.3cm = 10.8 cm. So you might be wondering how did you do that? Well, it is quite easy let me show you now. Lets say that you had to answer in cm you have to get the 45mm and change it into cm. Since mm is counted as a ten on every cm 40 mm is 4cm so currently we have 4.0 cm. Then instead of the 0 add in the 5 so you should have the number 4.5 cm. Now, you have to add the numbers 4.5 cm & 6.3 cm. Then there you have your answer 10.8 cm! Today was basically getting us sorted like our bins and our P.E monitors . For the bins I am doing room 14 (A.K.A our classroom) . The day I am doing for P.E is Thursday with Amily and Anita. Miss McCauley said that the busiest day was Thursday so I totally wanted to go for it. Today Room 14 did a math scavenger hunt. I worked with my friend Madison. We didn't have time to complete all the tasks we had to do. We had to estimate (to guess without knowing the answer.) some measurements then check if their right. For the field I thought that the width of the field was 65m but it was really close but I got it wrong, it was 56m. I thought that the width of the netball court was 16m and guess what? I GOT IT CORRECT!!!!!Monday 23rd April
Yay! Back to school!! Today we had music in the morning. When we got there Mrs Hohaia said that she was expecting the year sixes not us. However we still continued on our session. This term (term 2) we are learning about DRAMA. So today Mrs Hohaia told us that after we warm up she will be reading us a story called Weslandia. It was about a boy named Wesley and he is a nerd in the outside but really creative and adventures in the inside. After the story we had to think of another part in the book that we could strike a pose on. Then when she taps us on the shoulder with a beater we had to say a thought that the character we were acting as would me thinking. I was acting as Wesley when he was getting chased by the bullies. Today Miss McCauley told me Georgie and Serena to make the netball bags for each team. Which all together we had to make 8 netball bags. It was so hard because we had to go into a very dark and dusty room to get the things we needed like trophies. netball bibs and netball bags. It took us quite a while to get everything done because I had to keep running up and asking the teacher a lot of questions like how many bags do we REALLY need in total and do we carry all the finished bags to the class. It was basically my job to that. There was quite a big problem however, there was not enough netball bibs for every bag and not enough trophies. Then Madison came down and helped us it was a great help. We had to pump the balls just in case they were flat. Georgie and Serena had to go back to class because they were leaving tomorrow. So it was just me and Madison. In the end we managed to fill 7 bags with the things they needed. However, most of them still needed trophies. The last one didn't have the trophy and the complete set of netball bibs. We managed to get the job done but by the time we were in class it was lunch.Monday 2nd April
Today I had an I.C.T session, we had to make sure our audio boos and reading videos. I have done all the things I needed to do. So I got to go on my trial wiki, and do the missions. The first mission was to create several pages on it by making links. The second mission was to put a little bit of content on each page. I also did those two, in quite a fast time limit if I do say so myself. I am so nervous for my Three Way Conference which by the way is tomorrow! Another thing I did with my friends today was the P.E shed. Me, Jennifer and Ethan M. was in charge of getting the P.E gear the Year fours and threes needed. Today I wrote one and a half pages on my writing it was about how Ronnie went into the mansion again went through a mirror and found Rascal who asked her what she was doing here. Ronnie asked him why, he told her that the palace guards were coming to see if Rascal was still there, he also said "they would lock anyone up if they saw you with me". Today I had my reading workshop. Miss McCauley talked to us about writing about how well we thought we did when we made our audio boos. We had to write the title of the book we were doing it on. Today I did my Reflection Journal, I wrote about my special project. When I showed it to Miss McCauley she said that she was really impressed with my reflection. I was very proud of myself. Also today we had P.E. Room 14 versed Room 10 on a game of strategy. Our time was behind by seconds. In the end however Room 10 won.Thursday 22nd March
Today room 14 had our IKAN Maths test. I got everything in my first column correct. But after awhile it gets harder and harder. Also today we have our **Special Project**. My project is on netball, my project is so close to my best friend Amily. Her one was on tennis. We had to things for the special project step by step. The first step was deciding, on that step we had to decide or at least have an idea about what our project was on. The second step was Finding, on that step we had to find information on a computer or laptop.Wednesday 21st March
Today we had a show go on in the school hall. It was about these janitors who received a note saying they had to run a show instead of the real actors and actresses. The show that they had to do was Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs. Although they had ti stage the show in their janitors room, which was hard because they didn't have the right things for the play.So they just improvised and used what they could see... including us. One of the made us act like a forest and say this "f-f-f-FOREST!" it was weird. Also they didn't have enough dwarfs and they got some of us to be them. It was fun.

Today I wrote more on my journal. I finished a page on my story, but I am not yet finished. Also today Miss McCauley talked to us about our special projects. My special project is on Netball. We had to write on our Inquiry book for the first time. We had to answer and write these questions, What is my question? My answer to that question was. Can I create a booklet on netball? The other question was, What do I already know? My answer to that question was kind of easy because I have been playing netball for about 3 years! The next question was, What do I need to find out? My answer to that question was: What all the names of the silver ferns are, Who the coach for that team is, What are the golden rules for netball and All the names of the netball teams. Today Miss McCauley made a mistake... AGAIN! She totally forgot to add that we are gonna have a First Aid training tomorrow. It is going to take up a whole three blocks!! So we didn't have to start again like last time, but we still had to change a few things. I have just finished my e-asTTle test some of it was hard and some of it wasn't. After that we could play a quite game on the computer. I tried going on Sum dog but I didn't bring my paper which had my username and password. Miss Kristensen sent us back to Room 14. When we were back we did our Pro's and Con's activity on the back of our camp books. Pro's are the things we are looking forward to at camp, and Con's are the things we are not looking forward to at camp.Friday 17th February
Today at lunch people were running around saying there is a tornado! When the bell rung Miss McCauley said that if there was a tornado we will have a place to go in. The place is in the P.E shed. Inside there is a door at the very back of the shed. We are not allowed to go in there unless there is an emergency. That calmed me down.Wednesday 15th February

It is about a girl called Ronnie who finds a creepy looking mansion.I am doing the series with my friend Amily.
